The Westcombe Society has been instrumental in helping to form a Greenwich Line Users’ Group (GLUG).   GLUG has been formed to lobby for the interests of those who use the Greenwich Line.  In particular they are looking at the implications of the London Bridge rebuild and the disruption this will cause.  They are also hoping to persuade Network Rail to retain a link from the Greenwich Line to Charing Cross so that in future there is still the possibility of running trains direct from the Greenwich Line to Charing Cross.  Currently this is not part of the long term plan.

GLUG are hoping to convene a meeting as soon as possible between their Steering Group, South Eastern Trains and TfL to try and mitigate the effects of the London Bridge rebuild on Greenwich Line Users.   This will be followed by a public meeting in the New Year.

A useful summary of the implications for the Greenwich Line is given in the Westcombe News October 2013 and on the West Greenwich Blog.  For further information contact greenwichline@outlook.com
