The Blackheath Event took place on Sunday 7th July.

It was a happy and uplifting event with many thousands of ladies bedecked in various shades of pink and some in very interesting outfits! There were groups of friends, family members and colleagues all of whom have been touched by someone who has suffered from Cancer. They were all thoroughly committed to completing whichever run they were doing for the sponsorship they had been promised.

The morning 5km course attracted 8,000 entrants and is due to raise £750,000. The afternoon 10km course had 2,600 entrants and is due to raise £235,000.  A total amount of nearly one million pounds which will be very gratefully received by Cancer Research UK.

It was a very warm day and all the runners deserve commending for staying the course.

We congratulate all those taking part – see you again next year?
